Pala Vista Park Project
Pala Vista Park officially opened on Saturday, December 16, 2023.
In 2016, the City purchased the one-acre property at 234 Pala Vista Drive on the corner of Civic Center Drive, north of Highway 78, to create more park space for residents and to improve a key entry point into the city. In addition to creating outdoor green space for Vista residents, the park construction included the widening northbound Civic Center Drive, from Pala Vista Drive to Postal Way, to reduce traffic congestion. On September 22, 2020, the City Council approved the park design and plans for construction
NAMING OF THE NEW PARK
In September 2021, the City asked for the community's input via a survey on the naming of its newest park. On October 12, 2021, the City Council adopted "Pala Vista" for the new park's official name, based on the community's input.
PARK AMENITIES
The new park will include two children's playgrounds, a tree climbing structure, natural turf space, benches/seating areas, water fountains, decorative security fencing, and public art. The park will incorporate Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) access. The park project also includes the widening of northbound Civic Center Drive from Pala Vista Drive to Postal Way and the undergrounding of the utility lines along the park property.
