The purpose of the Youth Advisory Commission is to develop mutual understanding and respect between young people and adult citizens of Vista. The Commission’s powers and duties are set forth in Chapter 2.58 of the Vista Municipal Code.

There are eleven members who serve two-year terms. Recreation Manager Rob Anderson is the Staff Liaison.

Qualifications for Membership

  • Resident of the City of Vista that is a registered student, including a student enrolled in a home-school program, who is attending any public or licensed private school, whether it is located within or without of the boundaries of the City of Vista; or
  • A registered student attending a Vista Unified School District school; and
  • Successfully completed the eighth grade level or its equivalent, and not yet reached their 18th birthday at the time of appointment.

Meetings

Meetings are held on the third Wednesday of each month at 4:30 p.m. in the Vista Room located on the second floor of the Vista Civic Center, 200 Civic Center Drive, Vista, CA 92084.

Occasionally, meetings are cancelled. Please click on "Current Meeting Agenda" link below for any Cancellation Notices.

Agendas are posted 72 hours in advance of the Youth Advisory Commission meeting. Minutes are presented to the Commission for approval at the next regular meeting, and are posted after they are approved.
