The purpose of the Traffic Commission is to advise the City Council on matters relating to safe and efficient movement of traffic, including pedestrians and bicycles, upon existing streets, roads, and highways of the City. The Commission’s powers and duties are set forth in Chapter 2.60 of the Vista Municipal Code.

There are seven voting members who serve three-year terms. One of the members is recommended by the Board of Trustees of the Vista Unified School District and one member is recommended by the Vista Chamber of Commerce. Principal Engineer Husam Hasenin is the Staff Liaison.

Qualifications for Membership

  • Resident of the City of Vista
  • 18 years of age

Meetings

Meetings are held on the first Wednesday of each month at 6:00 p.m. in the City Council Chambers located on the second floor of the Civic Center, 200 Civic Center Drive, Vista, CA 92084.

Occasionally, meetings are cancelled. Please click on "Current Meeting Agenda" link below for any Cancellation Notices.

Agendas are posted 72 hours in advance of the Traffic Commission meeting. Minutes are presented to the Commission for approval at the next regular meeting, and are posted after they are approved.
