Workforce Development

The Vista Economic Development team connects employers, educators, employees and workforce professionals to create and retain Vista jobs. We also connect Vista residents to these and other employment resources to ensure they know of the educational and training opportunities available.

The San Diego Workforce Partnership can assist employers in finding and training talent.

Here is a list of employer job posting websites for each of the local higher education institutions:

Career Agents

Career Agents offer informative and individualized one on one counseling sessions. During these counseling sessions, Career Agents will better explain the variety of career services offered at the Career Centers such as providing employment-related counseling and professional development training programs. These training programs, like the Workforce Innovation and Opportunities Act (or WIOA for short), are designed to enhance employment opportunities to qualified applicants. Career Agents assist with program registration and can also offer additional information on other beneficial resources available throughout the greater San Diego communities. To sign up for Career Agent assistance, please complete the following steps:

  1. Go to San Diego Workforce Partnership website at Workforce.org
  2. Click on the Job Seekers Tab
  • Watch the short, 9-minute Orientation video on any cellular or Wi-Fi enabled computer, tablet or smartphone device.
  • Go to the CalJobs website and create a CalJobs account (please disregard this step if you already have a CalJobs account).
  • Once you have completed all the aforementioned steps, please send an email to careercenters@workforce.org. In the subject line of your email, type Career Agent Assistance. In your email, please confirm that you have a CalJobs account and the name of the Career Center that you prefer to receive assistance at (either in Oceanside or Escondido). You can also request a Spanish translator in your email, if needed.

After you have emailed the Career Centers with the required information, a Career Agent will contact you shortly thereafter.

Online Career Portal: Did you know that the San Diego Workforce Partnership website has an Online Career Portal where job seekers can review employment opportunities offered by various employers throughout the greater San Diego area?
